Here is the Florida Senate webpage, look for S 2006 e2
https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2021/2006/?Tab=BillText
Here is some of the text for that Bill.
1097 4. Ordering an individual to be examined, tested,
1098 vaccinated, treated, isolated, or quarantined for communicable
1099 diseases that have significant morbidity or mortality and
1100 present a severe danger to public health. Individuals who are
1101 unable or unwilling to be examined, tested, vaccinated, or
1102 treated for reasons of health, religion, or conscience may be
1103 subjected to isolation or quarantine.
1104 a. Examination, testing, vaccination, or treatment may be
1105 performed by any qualified person authorized by the State Health
1106 Officer.
1107 b. If the individual poses a danger to the public health,
1108 the State Health Officer may subject the individual to isolation
1109 or quarantine. If there is no practical method to isolate or
1110 quarantine the individual, the State Health Officer may use any
1111 means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual.
If you look at the bottom of the page of text you see that the Bill went in to effect on July 1st, 2021. Desantis himself may never forcibly vaccinate Florida residents but who is to say future dictators would not use this to do the unthinkable. This should have never been signed in to law. This bill needs to be amended to remove this wording from the bill. Perhaps Desantis didn't read the bill or didn't grasp the ramifications of the bill. We should make our concerns known to him.
Here is Gov. Desantis contact information. https://flgov.com/contact-governor/
This made the rounds before. It's from 2006 (Jeb Bush was guv).
THANK YOU. I'm so sick of people shilling this and starting fights over it.
According to the senate webpage, was signed, passed or amended on4/30/2021 at 4:03 PM. Perhaps it was up to be reapproved, it should not have been signed. It may have been originally signed in to law in 2006 but Desantis just signed it again, he should have vetoed it.
It needs to be repealled, for sure.
