This is an interesting argument but nearly every argument against income taxes has been debunked repeatedly. Yes, income taxes WERE unconstitutional until the 16th amendment came to be in 1913. But even then, taxes on goods were always protected. Here's every argument brought against income taxes, with sources showing how the Supreme Court has already addressed them:

The only way income tax can be unconstitutional is if another amendment is ratified saying so.
Ehhhh read the cases, they were ALL virtually declared frivolous, and lost. Not on the actual merits of the claim. Judges are corrupt political hacks.
