Yup! No hero of mine. Probably had dementia while president. So much easier to control. Forgot to add; they dragged his dead body all over the country for reasons I still don't understand.
It sounded like that with the phrase saying he “succumbed” to influenza in April 1919, which would commonly be understood to mean he died of influenza in 1919. But he didn’t die. The article goes on to document the rest of his Presidential term, which concluded in March 1921. He died in Feb 1924.
