I love that picture. That little guy is so cute, but I feel so bad that his little shirt is dirty and the expression on his face suggests he has experienced more than he should have at such a young age. Wiser than his years comes to mind.
Any day when I was a child, my shirt would be dirty by suppertime. The same was true of most of the guys I knew. So the dirty shirt is nothing to feel bad about.
Probably. And you're probably right about the shirt, but just the whole demeanor of the little guy made me think he had seen and experienced too much for a young one. Made me think he might not have the care and protection a little one should have. Maybe it was just me making something out of nothing. I hope so. And I hope we can one day return to the days of kids playing outside all day until the street lights came on, watching the fireflies dart around the trees, drinking water from the hose and jumping through the sprinklers. Who would have guessed those simple pleasures would one day only be memories.
I still watch the fireflies, and I'm outside all day some days. But we never had streetlights or sprinklers. That's because we were in the country watching the fireflies, laying on the ground watching clouds, and playing in cornfields.
You can still do a lot of those things. I'm too old to care what anyone else thinks about what I do now.
Growing up in the country sounds so idyllic. And yes, I too still watch the fireflies, but it seems so many children are missing out on those simple pleasures. But every generation has to do what they have to do. It's their call.
So the virus is becoming vax resistant...and that's why we have to take the vax?
Honkity honk honk

Okay. Thank you.
I suppose kids nowadays wouldn't be allowed to play in the dirt or drink from the water hose like I and my friends did back in the 50s and 60s.
