There are more than just ADS-B transponder channels, and yes, they do have radar -some C-130 variants quite sensitive. If it had a distinctive whine to the props, likely a "J-model" (newer build). Believe it or not, they're still building them.
Low and slow is a "trademark" of these workhorses.
I had 2 flyover about 25min apart at 5:30am last night, heading the same direction as OP described and also flying lower than I've seen them and didn't appear on ADS-B. I've also never seen a C-130 flying through here before, wonder what they were up to?
oh see my other comment, but I witnessed the same thing at 5:30am when it was still dark outside, they were heading the same direction as you described and I've never seen them flyover my place in Kentucky. Wonder if it was the same ones?
Hey dude, I had a couple of these flyover my place in Kentucky heading East to West last night at like 5:30am heading the same direction (West to East), about 25min apart, flying very low as well and not appearing on ADS-B. Wonder if one if them was the one you saw?

Planefags, I miss you!🐸
From the description it sounds like a C130 flying nap of the earth.

I have heard cargo planes are smuggling illegals all over the country from S. America
You in N Georgia?

Just saw a big military chopper fly by, south NC.
It could be a C130 or an A400? Although there is only a C17 showing in that area?
