In the UK, the city of Coventry was bombed by the Germans (because munitions factories) and it is now called a twin town with Dresden. But 500 people died in Coventry. Different altogether.
It's insulting to call these two cities twins because the scale of the murder was so much different.

Once I was in a hotel lobby just outside Coventry with a German corporate client. I pointed to a picture on the wall and said that was what Coventry looked like before you guys bombed it. He looked defensive and said "Zat was a very long time ago".
I looked him in they eye and told him that the British had done much worse to Hamburg and Dresden for no good reason.

Yes, I agree with all your points there. I think Hitler was monstrous too. The way he came to power was highly manipulative.
In the end, I think the second world war was all about the cabal setting European powers against each other so that they may divide and conquer.
