On the CIS youtube page (go figure they have social media accounts) there is a video "NBC Nightly News: Securing The Election". Its a NBC news story with some highlights of what CIS is doing behind the scenes to secure the election. about 2min in they describe that they have Intrusion Detection Sensors in all 50 states. (Link)
To me the key points made by the panel were questioning whether the Albert Sensors are themselves certified equipment AND wouldn't they potentially be a point of unauthorized entry into the systems they are connected to.
From the linku/pedeIta posted from Ohio SoS, slide 13. This is the CIS portion of the presentation to the Ohio officials.
• Albert is a network security monitoring service offered by CIS
through the MS-ISAC
– Next generation of the DHS “Einstein” project
– Identifies malicious or potentially harmful network activity
based upon known signatures'
What do we know about the Einstein project? I know nothing so chime in with what you know.
Identifies malicious network activity based on KNOWN signatures.(paraphrase) Does anyone else think this could leave all kinds of huge gaps?
