Nashville and Chattanooga are blue. Surrounding areas red. But Nashville area prices have skyrocketed. Still, might be better than LA prices. I know because I have in-laws there. Wimberly I don't know anything about but there are lots of good destinations in Texas. I'd consider the Dakotas, if you like cold weather.
I live in North Alabama not far from Nashville and its not bad. We have grown a lot and gotten a little more blue but because defense and space are our primary industries it is still pretty based around here. Tons of veterans and engineers, Low property tax and pretty low house prices, and you can easily be in the country in 30 to 40 min if you want to live a more rural life.
How do you know Wimberley? That’s a small place for a Californian to know. I am 20 miles from there in Driftwood. Nice, but still close to Austin and all the crazies there.
I’m actually from Canada. My Texan buddy thinks I’d like it. I’ve been to Austin. Great town (lib heavy I’m sure but coming where I’m from?) I’d love to work in the community. While creating my art.
the midwest; Nebraska, South Dakota, etc.
a lot of people live like you described.🇺🇸
What about Texas? Wimberly? Tennessee? Around Nashville. Chattanooga? I've been in Los Angeles for 15 years. I'm done.

Do you think it’s nice?
those places might be nice too, but can only give first hand experience about the midwest:)
would imagine anything would have to be better than Los Angeles, sounds like torture being around all those spooks.
