Um. If she wants to keep the weight off the injured left side, "where would the weight have to shift to?" you mean like, the non-injured right leg? The right leg is still capable of supporting weight. If you're using the crutch on the right side, you're having to lean constantly to the right; aka a very non-natural situation. Using the crutch on the left side allows the crutch to take the place of the left foot.
I’m sorry but this shows how hive-minded this place can be sometimes. A simple search on DuckDuckGo and there’s a plethora of sources advising that you use the crutch on the non-afflicted side. Let’s do research guys and stop giving u/ARandomOgre content to post on his/her forum.
I have never once posted anything from here to the forum I moderate.
Also, why on earth would anyone make fun of anyone for having an argument about which side you’re supposed to use the crutch on? I think most people get through life without using them. It’s probably not something most people think about.
Reddit hates me, unjustly and ridiculously. Crazies.
To be fair, I haven’t visited your forum, as it’s obviously a parody of Q followers ‘Qult_HQ’, so I do apologize for assuming that you mock us as well. It’s not really an argument, moreso a popular misconception, as the correct way to use the crutch is on the unaffilicted side. But again, I was assumed that on your parody forum, this would be something of content. Sorry again.
No, you’re half right. The forum does tend to mock Q people, and I do moderate it. I just don’t really partake in it. I mostly try to keep the bullshit and aggressive shit out from both sides.
But as I said, I have personally never posted anything from here over there.
No offense...but your name gives you creds 😂
that would be the case if using two crutches and not using the bad foot at all.
Yeah, so, my whole point is--you don't use the 'bad' foot. Hence 'bad' foot. But clearly the medical consensus is that it's still fine to hobble around putting pressure on your busted foot so long as you lean the other way. Who knew?
That seems very unnatural.
Say left side hurt. You would be effectively vaulting your right foot for every step.
I don’t mean to patronize you but here’s a simple explanation why with diagrams: https://www.wikihow.com/Walk-With-One-Crutch?amp=1
That's why I haven't downvoted the idea in any sense, the thinking is that I would use the crutch in the spot roughly where that foot would step.
I guess that's a real thing then.
