I listen to NPR, so you don’t have to.
And lately, NPR has gone way overboard with the OMG Afghanistan narrative.
They’ve been running pieces non-stop for weeks now, about how bad things are getting in Afghanistan.
The Taliban is going door to door raping women and children!
Women aren’t being allowed to attend school!
Women are being killed for dressing immodestly!
The Taliban took over 10 major cities today!
We’ve sunk so much blood and treasure into Afghanistan,
And we don’t understand ‘sunk costs’.
It all just feels phony as hell, with the purpose being to keep US military in Afghanistan.
And why would anyone want the US military in Afghanistan?
Well, you have to look at a map,
And see that Afghanistan and Iraq flank Iran,
And Iran is the enemy of Israel.
So basically Israel has its enemy surrounded by US military,
And theres no reason to believe that israel has any intention of ever removing US military from surrounding israeli enemies
The US doesn't want to be there.
Biden is the fall guy for this. There's no other way where the US could evacuate from Afghanistan without major deaths and repercussions.
This was necessary. Trump can't look bad.
Trump had a plan for an orderly exit, Biden fucked up again.
Yeah its kinda crazy. They are sending in 2000ish troops, to help evacuate 1500ish staff. The numbers dont make sense. Like how long does it actually take for an able bodied person to evacuate a burning house?
I loved NPR for more than a decade but if I hear any of their voices I puke now. So thank you for your service.
I strongly think that the Taliban that Trump was dealing with were actually decent guys (relatively speaking) and this post confirms it.
I think once Trump comes back Afghan will be cleaned up.
I'm all for Biden getting mud on his face, but I don't want to see U.S. military and embassy personnel being held hostage or just slaughtered a la Iranian Revolution back in the 70s.
Also China is to east and Pakistan as well.
Geostrategically makes sense to keep at least main bases Kandahar and Bagram. That we just left them is dumb if we aren’t leaving. Who knows if really leaving or not.
It’s like having 2 large air craft carriers in our enemies backyards. As opposed to front yards which is the navy and west side of Iran and Taiwan for China
Which does make me wonder if 9/11 was indeed an inside job which provided pretext to invade Afghanistan in the first place.
