The Alberta government didn't provide proof because King made an error in his summons. It was effectively a piece of paper that says "Show Up" without any legal prowess.

He didn't "Win". He was ignored.

Alberta is a relatively conservative province anyway. Anywhere with bad weather is guaranteed to be conservative.
