International Isolation? I seem to recall there being quite a bit of mineral wealth in Afghanistan. Granted no ones been able to mine for decades given the conflict. But if the Taliban restart those mines. They’ll have buyers. All through back channels of course. But they’ll hardly be isolated unofficially.
Political Pressure? They’ve been taking territory non-stop for over a month. Afghan Army is either throwing down their Guns and surrendering, outright defecting, or in full retreat outside a few pockets of token resistance. It’s clear they don’t give a crap about international politics or political pressures. Their riding high on victories. So the thought process probably is that They can deal with that after they’re in charge.
Plus. China never particularly liked the U.S even at the best of times. Expecting them to follow U.S foreign policy. Especially when not doing so causes the U.S problems was a fool’s dream.
Embassies are being evacuated. Both the U.S and U.K have deployed troops into Kabul to assist with the evacuation. Unofficially they’re probably there to hold off the Taliban should they make a push to take diplomatic staff as hostages. That and probably keep Civilians from mobbing the transports for a ride out. Undoubtedly there’s quite a few Afghan Civilians the Taliban would consider “Collaborators” . Those Civilians are more then likely expecting to be violently purged. So they’d be eager to get the fuck out of dodge. And there’s a fleet of Airplanes and helicopters there to offer them the ticket out.
In short the Military has learned from the Fall of Saigon.
China eyeing that lithium again.
"What if China, Russia, and others are coordinating w/ POTUS to eliminate the NWO?"
