One of the reasons the Afghan military was so ineffective is because they were trained to use air support like the US military. The problem is Biden withdrew all US air support back in early July and wouldn't allow outside maintenance crews to go in and service the Afghan fleet, effectively grounding them.

It is more accurate to say the Afghans were over reliant on CAS. But yes your point stands that without CAS the Afghans simply didn't have the tenacity like the Taliban to fight it out.
