Does anyone have any sauce on how this Afghanistan deal was different under Biden?
posted 4 years ago by NewbieQbie 4 years ago by NewbieQbie +9 / -0

my thick skulled lib friend insists this is the same deal Trump made and the same results would have happened if Trump were in office. Any sauce I can point out to him that proves Joey changed the plan?

Even if it was the same plan, execution is the problem. I can have a plan to go to a job interview but if I show up naked and shit on the floor, I didn't nail the execution did I? Biden doesn't know where he is. Everyone knows he's weak. When the "resident of the USA and co." were putting out tic toks that include flaming homosexual influencers, goat fuckers were taking over Afghanistan.

Right I get you. But How do we know Biden's execution was different from Trumps given the same situation, is what I mean. Are we just assuming?

Yes we are assuming based on his several peace deals and no escalation of conflict during his term. He was like 10/10. Biden is now 0/1.

Well the Biden administration didn’t tell the Afghan government about the withdrawal. They just did it. There are reports afghan government just found out hours after the bases were evacuated. This made sure they didn’t have time to prepare.

On top of that, the taliban performs their raids in the summer, while hiding in Pakistan during the winter. Right now, versus May, is actually peak time for them.

Unless we have all the intel 100% we ( I) am assuming at the moment. Most of what we know RIGHT NOW is what the MSM is telling us. Wait for the smoke to clear to get the real story. I still stand by my comment though. I do assume it would have gone better under Trump IF it was the same plan. Also, I think your friend should be asking, if it's the same plan, and it was soo obvious to everyone that it was bad, why was Biden doing anything that Orange Man Bad wanted?

@hughhewitt · 11h The @WSJ editors accurately, succinctly damn @POTUS @JoeBiden. When Taliban violated the Doha agreement —premised on a negotiated power sharing— the U.S. was free to keep Bagram, it’s 2500 troops and NATO’s 5000, to use air power. He could have saved thousands. He chose not to.

Thanks for more info! I'm sure there's a lot to this story that we may or may not learn in the future. I put blame on the resident potato and co. Where the fuck was NATO? Thought Afghanistan was a joint venture? Wasn't there a story about Trump leaving NATO headquarters the other day? Just thinking out loud :D

Trump had intended to withdraw all troops by May. Biden extended that deadline by a few months but still did it.

Here's a recent piece about it that's relatively friendly toward Trump: https://thefederalist.com/2021/08/16/no-biden-cant-blame-trump-for-the-afghanistan-withdrawal-disaster/

My understanding is that most of you support the withdrawal but think Trump would have handled it with more agility and thus stopped the Taliban from taking over without rescinding his plan to pull us out.

Trump's plan likely didn't involve leaving gear behind with the keys in the ignition either.

Probably not, but I'm guessing Biden's plan didn't either. That's the sort of thing that's probably within the umbrella of the local commanders and sergeants than the President.

Yeah, I think most of us don't want perpetual war. It would be a mess no matter who is in charge BUT some plans are executed better than others. I'd personally assume it would have gone better under Trump for many reasons.

You can find it with a DDG duck search..... Look up “reconciliation” “Pompeo”

Basically the agreement was, fuck around and find out. We had been drawing troops down, and the Taliban agreed not to attack, otherwise we would wipe them off the planet. Biden doesn’t hold such respect.

Reconciliation government with many tribes....it is out there.

POTUS 45 had negotiated a "conditions based" withdrawal. Not a "pull the plug after announcing a date (9/11) for the taliban to plan against " that is the current administration's e execution.

The timetable. A well planned military operation must consider timing. Apparently Afghan readiness for violence (warfare, terrorism, revolution) follows a cyclic pattern and always heats up in the summer (August is a very hot month). Trump had the exit scheduled for May, Biden pushed it out three months.

So Biden executed the orange man bad deal?

What does your thick skulled lib friend think about that?

He thinks the same outcome would have happened if it were Trump in office. He blames this fully on Trump like a typical liberal. I swear to God I'm so done. If he can't see that this is Xiden's fault then he never will see anything wrong with this corruption.

Ask your friend if Joe Biden could un-do all of Trumps executive orders, which he did, push CRT into the military, stop the keystone pipeline, stop construction on the border wall, move us away from relying on our own energy and put us back on reliance on foreign oil, he did all of this... but on Afghanistan he stuck to Trump’s plan... but then, why didn’t he pull the troops out on May 1st like Trump would have? Why did he wait until now, now of all times?

Don’t let the narrative be corrupted that “Trump would have done worse.” Biden lied again many times in his speech, and then ran off.

8 years on the Senate foreign relations committee, 8 years as VP....and blames Orange Man.
