The advantage we have over other countries is that we're a collection of states and not all states are capitulating to the nonsense. Instead, they appear to be reclaiming states rights. I don't dispute certain areas are setting up to be like France, but the feds don't have the power to inflict this on everyone simultaneously, and if some of the states hold up, they never will.

Get to know your local sheriff. They will be the most important authority figure around you at that point.
