Stupid people going to stupid. It's what they do. These people have not been trained in logic nor reason. Carefully raised sheep in collegiate environments studying gender studies, sociology and political science. They believe that they are educated when they graduate. Most never pick up and read anything educational again. I work with nothing but computer science and electrical engineers, most have no idea of anything truly science based. They can be trained, but it is difficult and takes a long time, depending on their innate intellect. I don't know what they are taking in EE courses these days, but it doesn't seem to be logic and reason. Some do come out pretty good and just need that last little bit of real world application to tie it together, but most just end up carrying my tools for me.
