Yes indeed. It was the most difficult psychological battle to convince my brain it was possible to feel joy enough in life sober again but if it could happen to me it could happen to anyone. I always found it peculiar that my sobriety marked the very beginning of my own "Great Awakening".
Well done brother! Don't slack off in your resolve to stay sober! There will be tough times ahead where the little voice (or maybe voices) will try to convince you that you can handle just a little of whatever to get through whatever rough patch you are going through. Substance addiction is definitely a way to stay insulated from reality, so going sober opens up the real world, good and bad, but hopefully, the bad becomes much clearer so easier to avoid.
