I agree that people need cross reference to multiple sources. Although if it was not updooted, then how would people on here know that the news is fake? Let's just hope they are not spreading this unverified info to friends and family, or even worst, posting in on the telegram.
Because a) everyone with half a brain should absolutely have known, or strongly suspected, it was fake, for multiple reasons, and b) people rightly started saying "fake/bs" shortly after it was posted.
So how several hundred "based pedes" then came afterwards and essentially said "Oh, I like this", rather than "Get out, garbage peddler" was rather concerning, seeing this ostensibly truth-seeking community ready swallow the most obvious lies if only they were convenient and appealing.
True, I am sure that there are folks that just read topic headlines and throw a updoot. You can measure this by how many updootes the topic gets versus the amount of updootes you have in the comments. Maybe we should recommend a change in format: up/down/fake

That would be great. Although this forum obviously inherits its structure and functionality from the larger .win platform, and I believe, originally, from reddit. So as many functionality tweaks as could/should be made... they very likely won't.
My best recommendation is for people to turn off "Community Styling", so they can downtoot garbage posts.
