As a Grandmother with lots of toddler grandchildren, if one catches something now he or she gets treated as a pariah cause God forbid any child catch a cold. They get banned from school, banned from extended family visits, doomed to isolation. For frigging colds, and then the drama about “you exposed my precious child to illness” from the parents. WTF happened to normal childhood colds and flu….

I noticed they've been building this germ awareness culture over the last 15 years. When they could give flu shots at pharmacies, I think they really started laying on paranoid propaganda about the flu. I told my kids back then, then we're setting up the infrastructure for The Mark of the Beast.
Anyway, when I went to school there wasn't a nurse or any rules about not coming. You could be snotting and coughing and say you have the flu, but without running a fever, you aren't going home. No one cares because kids are all the time snotting and such.
Glad I'm homeschooling all my kids now. Had some in public for a few years for special needs stuff, but they're over that hump now. I'm still getting the emails and I can't keep up with the latest rules and regs. They're out for illness this week. Looks like all the vaxed teachers are getting sick. Even the county dmv tag office was closed due to illness. Best complement I got recently was my 10 yo said she had forgotten that Covid was a thing. I thought I must be doing well then.
