Penn State faculty have been pushing hard for a vaccine mandate, with close to 300 faculty members moving their in-person classes to zoom in protest of the university’s lack of a vaccine mandate earlier in the month.
So last year Penn State seemed like an option for my son. This year, we can’t imagine it. I never thought our decision would be based on politics but we are only seriously looking at Conservative Colleges.
Sorry, but y'all need to find a patriotic, conservative based, PRIVATE college, not a State run indoctrination camp. My 22 yr old son just graduated from UCF. It was his single most WORST experience he's had yet. Forget about the vaccine/mask mandates. In the end, those will be temporary. The indoctrination remains, though. Your kid will be quietly hunted, shunned and be made to feel second class and most likely will keep his mouth shut just to make it through without too much trouble. That alone brought so much unneeded torment and despair for my son, he almost didn't make it to graduation.
PSU is one of the worst colleges to send your son to, as it's one of the MOST liberal based indoctrination camps there are. It's almost impossible to avoid it, but the trick is to find one where most of the faculty/staff/admin falls in line with your family's beliefs.
We do have a great conservative college—High Point. The President is an immigrant who loves this country and teaches the students to be entrepreneurs and independent with real life skills. Penn State was a little closer to home but none of us can bear a liberal school so I’m sure he won’t be going there.

Good luck.
