I was going to do this Jan. I couldn’t bring myself to see our flag like that so I just took it down. But you’re right it’s is appropriate
I’ve had mine like that since Biden was elected. I only turned it right way twice this year, for Independence, and Memorial Days
I completely understand this. And I almost did it myself. Speaking with some vet friends, and even my own vetran father I decided against it. Yes it's a sign we're in distress, but it is also an insult to our service members that stand for us.
Then I thought to take it down but decided, no FUCK THAT, FUCK THEM. I bought a bright ass light to shine on my flag to piss off my commie libtard neighbors.
If you fly a flag at night proper protocol requires a light be shined upon it.
I've always had a rather anemic solar light. Not no more bucko. You can see mine from a mile down the road now. :)
A bit of a tangent but could you recommend the lighting "line" you're using? I bought a relatively "beefy" solar light and it fails well before dawn (full sun all day) and I have to take my flag in and out every day.
I don't mind the chore, it's a daily reminder of freedom. But I WOULD like to fly her at night. TIA

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
We do have danger to life and property at this point.
I'd say what we're dealing with qualifies. We have a treasonous Potato as POTUS, a known Commie Whore as VPOTUS, traitors in Congress, traitors running every Fed Govt agency, Antifa/BLM running rampant in our streets, and we're being infiltrated and invaded by KNOWN Cartel traffickers and terrorists, PLUS we just have untold BILLIONS in money, equipment, arms, and munitions to the largest known terror controlled countey in the World. Not to mention we've abandoned our own in that same country. We also have a runaway "judicial system," at least 37 governor's KNOWN to have collided with the CCP, and a fraudulent election cycle that doesn't seem to have been corrected yet. Not to mention we have unnaturally created shortages in every industry we have, a small minded idiot in charge of our healthcare system, lockdowns, COVID shot mandates for our military, mask mandates of some sort, private and public, in all 50 States, and a DOJ illegally incarcerating Patriots because they decided to protest said fraudulent election cycle, etc, etc...etc.
What more would it take you to realize we're in dire straits? We fought both a Revolution AND a "civil" War for a helluva lot less. As a matter of fact, we saved the World TWICE in less than 30 yrs for less than half of what we're experiencing today.
If all of that doesn't qualify as "dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property," then none of us here knows what would.
During the cival war, one ship needed a doctor, and he was on another ship. They inverted the flag, and the boats rallied. The doctor came aboard to help a patient. The flag was then put back into its proper position once he was aboard.
That’s how you are supposed to use the inverted flag. Not fly it inverted all day. You’re disrespecting everything it stands for. You’re sowing division, just like antifa. So downvote me for speaking the truth.

No, it is not bashing the Flag, it means the country is in trouble.
Don’t give me that “country in distress” nonsense. To invert the flag is an emergency distress call. Do you need an ambulance, police, fire, hearse, priest? Put your flag up properly, and pledge your allegiance. That’s what you should be doing. Some people hoist the flag with pride of country in their hearts.

I did that and my Navy brother in law got extremely pissed off at me for it. It is more of a distress call and could bring unwanted attention to yourself
