Well, covid or just a tough flu, I have one family member who spent a couple nights in emergency care a few weeks ago now and had a hell of a time getting well enough to be up and about, still not 100% but, back at work this week at least, not full days though. (while the rest of his household only got the sniffles and a couple of feeling rough days and a week of blah.)
My wife is a nurse and she's never seen it in the summer before. The CDC sent around a message saying it's because people all took their masks off ... eyeroll.

There's a ton of RSV (upper respiratory infection) going around.
Idk if it's 'natural' this time, or from being around vaccinated people.
There are lots of babies & adults getting it now.
RSV usually strikes in mid-Fall, it gets every kid in sight sick at once through schools and daycares. Brutal stuff.
