Lately, I've had the urge to ask random mask-wearers why they are wearing the mask. BTW, I have no problem walking up to total strangers and starting a conversation, which is probably why I have this urge.
I assume it is either because they think it protects them from Covid, think it protects others if they have Covid, or they want to virtue signal.
But I'm torn as to whether or not starting a random convo with a stranger would lead to the person getting irrate or melting down, and if that would be helpful or harmful.
What do you guys think?
You’re welcome to ask me.
I wear it because I like being anonymous, and I have an excuse to wear masks in a bank. I can wear it in my car and not be ID’d by some douchebag road-rager. I can see a coworker in a supermarket and not have to fake smile or hopefully even be recognized.
I’m an anon who loves anonymity, and if I can walk around for the rest of my life without Amazon being able to track me through fucking doorbell cameras as easily as an unmasked person, then I’m going to do that. Security is about layers, and choosing not to take advantage of it just because I look like a COVID scardey is too close to virtue-signaling for my comfort.
Sounds like something a fugly person would say. Ugly people love the masks.
That’s certainly a possibility.
My town had an ordinance that prevented the wearing of masks in public until the day they mandated wearing masks in public (in fact, they probably didn't even remove the ordinance and just ran them concurrently). Being anonymous by wearing a mask is a freedom that the surveillance state had taken, and now we have it back. Recapturing any lost freedom is at least a silver lining.
Masks are for perverts and slaves. You sound like the pervert variety.
Masks are for people who want to stay anonymous. Literally the simplest piece of security technology in existence, has been for all of human history.
Unless you are also changing up your habits daily and have been wearing a mask continually for the past 3 years theyve already got your face and habits. Now stop being a pussy. Jk but seriously stop.
You are just a creepy voyeur wanting anonymity as you stand in the middle of a bank checking out the teller. Be a fucking man not a dingy little pervert. It’s disgusting.
What an unnecessarily aggressive response that adds literally nothing to the discourse.
