Many people who have been living on EDD benefits will have their free money dry up starting September 6th and it doesn't seem like another extension is coming.
First, a lot of lazy people who have been sucking at the teet for a year and a half are about to be angry they can't receive a pay check for sitting on their ass. Who, where, and how will this anger be directed?
There will be an entire new group of people re-entering the workforce who have been out of work for a long time due to free gibs, almost 8 million people. How will this effect the economy? Positive, negative, both?
I can't fully explain why but it feels like an important marker, but it feels like a big deal. What do you all think?
As someone who has been on unemployment this year, I have a totally different take on all of this. For 15 years, i have been working from home, self-employed. For years, i have watched the same people stay on welfare and work the system who have been given insurance benefits, food stamps and money each month while we slave away working full time, but not able to afford insurance and not buying steaks and lobster, etc.. with our money. Everyone who received unemployment had to be people who were working at least a year full time before receiving unemployment, at least in our state. These are not the welfare and lazy people. Our state provides the lowest unemployment benefits and you cannot hold any job part time or seasonal, etc. and still receive unemployment. As a self-employed individual, this was the first time i have ever been able to claim unemployment.
On behalf of the working class, we did not choose this bullshit liberal sabotage plan to force shut downs on people. At no fault of our own, our businesses in an instant were destroyed. 15 years down the drain. Like hell i am going to go to work somewhere that i am forced to wear a mask all day or forced to take a vaccine. I paid my taxes every year and if the government forces me into unemployment, yes, for once, i am going to take it. They caused this. I paid into the system and they are going to compensate me one way or another for stealing my livelihood. In the meantime i am looking for employment but no, I am not going to wear a mask all day.
Lol I gaddA say, 95% of people on food stamps buy garbage food. That's why they are so far and have health problems. As for unemployment, take it and rebuild. We all pay into it . You earned it.
I'll add that garbage food is cheap and the easier option for feeding a low income or poor family.
Eating healthy is expensive. So it's easy to understand why and how low income and poor families fall into the trap of eating processed, sugary, refined and chemically enhanced food.
Monsanto's initial justification for their miserable existence was that they were filling a necessary gap in food shortages and hunger worldwide. I remember listening to a leftie friend trying to justify their existence and why they weren't the devil because they were solving global hunger.
Fun fact: there are surprising limitations on what you can buy with food stamps.
You can’t buy any prepared food, or hot food. Rotisserie chickens are not allowed. There are other weird exemptions. They basically try to force you to buy crap because that’s the only thing your food stamps work on/afford to feed you for a week.
As the volunteer office I once worked with used to say, you get better outcomes when you give people a hand up, not a handout.
Yes BUT... u can buy a cold chicken that was previously cooked... Cold prepared foods.. or a premad uncooked pizza and then have them cook it lol... NY is super weird on that crap
Hmmm. Have you been to WA state? 7-11 accepts EBT cards (hi-tech welfare). Rotisserie chickens, and all hot foods can be purchased with stamps. Leeches separate their booze and smokes for the 2nd "ring up" at the checkout
Have never been to WA. This is mostly my experience volunteering in the Northeast.
Well they could learn to cook.they have the time.
Entitlement mentality. I guess he was practicing living under the great reset. This thing isn’t over yet & many believe there will be food shortages. He may have regrets.
