Seriously, maybe mobile phones are more trouble than they are worth. How did we survive before them? Maybe it's time to go back to traditional means of communication.
It was great, as a tradesman Id leave work to go see a customer, and nobody would bother me until I got back. I'd use a paper map book to navigate there. If I ran out of gas I started walking.
not just maybe. have been thinking of getting a super old phone that can text + make / receive calls. anything else is not needed, get a computer. constantly being available is cancer.
dont even need texting, I had that turned off years back eas more trouble than it was worth. especially with business interactions, stuff kept getting screwed and money lost because the people only wanted to text then never respond in a timely manner. they refused to answer calls so i turned it off.
gets them so mad they have to actually tall to someone.
amazing how stuff gets done correctly when you have to talk to someone.
I'm a nerd that loves technology. I am about 15 minutes away from smashing my phone into pieces. I am so sick of those fucking things. The only thing I use on mine anymore (outside of text and calls) is navigation ... not so much for the maps since I can read the old fashioned kind ... it's more of a convenience thing and the precise ETA. Of course, I can just get a dedicated GPS system for my car instead of using the surveillance device I paid for.
I also browse this site with it of course :-).
The other thing that makes me sick ... Facebook and other social media bullshit has pretty much turned people into hermits. There's no need to go and hang out since everyone seems to know everything about everyone anymore.
These fucking smartphones could vanish tomorrow and I'd more than likely be relieved. They're nothing but a nuisance anymore. This story about Australia has me livid ... I know those petty little beta tyrants are already hard at working bringing a similar shitshow here to the States.
I think it's only a matter of time before satellite collisions create a cataclysm and they can't put up any more satellites in low earth orbit unless they figure out how to clean up all the space debris.
