Is the keto diet necessary? Very curious. I have a friend with an adult son who is severely autistic, nonverbal. Could the spray alone help or will he need the keto diet? Your post is giving me so much hope for them. Thank you!
Autism typically has a digestive distress aspect - when we cut the sugar my girl went from no sleep & constant pain to a whole new world. One cracker? Says it no sleep, spinning, etc.
Diet was super important.
I suggest watching The Magic Pill that I linked to as it does a decent job of explaining the diet. One of the things about keto is bad into. I thought I understood it before I dug deeper.
Sugar / carbs is hidden in so much of what we consume - as well as bad oils. Get up right now and walk to your fridge and start grabbing random condiments etc. now as you do so / look at all of the shit that has sugar added that really has no reason to. They pack sugar into all sorts of shit and is almost a “how much can we get away with” deal. Ketchup in a lot of cases has a shit ton.
When you actually get into ketosis your body changes - I started craving spicy food like crazy. Capsaicin. After more research the thinking is that after the body gets out of a sugar dependent shock - it recognizes the parasites that are in the gastrointestinal track that we’re feeding on the sugars / carbs - and knows spicy food will kill the parasites.
Ever wonder why spicy food is more common in more poor areas?
Edit: I also went from prediabetic to perfectly healthy & running etc inside of year. I lost %50 of my total weight

I can only say what keto did for us.
