30ng/ml is the cutoff for deficiency. there seems to be little record of serious or bad covid outcomes for people with D at 40+ ng/ml. D is only one part of the immune story but it suggests 40 ng/ml is optimal.
If 30ng/ml is the cutoff for deficiency, my reading would suggest that people are much healthier at 75ng/ml or less. Also it is imperative to take vitamin K with D unless you are on Coumadin so that the D is deposited in the bones and not your arteries. Many people that spend a lot of time in the sun may still be deficient so it is imperative to know how much D is in your body...worth the blood test. I am constantly amazed at this free gift of health from God.
