We never had it, at least not to the level European cultures do.
That's not a BAD thing.
We're individualistic, but we'll stick together and be close brothers in arms when shit gets bad.
Then, when the rough times were over, it's back to going our individualistic way again.
I've always thought we Americans are kinda like family that doesn't get along. Brothers that fight. Sisters that bicker. We don't even really LIKE each other. But... We love each other.
So, if you attack my sibling, I'll kick your ass. Because only I get to beat him up. Not you.
