Daniel 7:25 KJV And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
So why would the beast want to change times and laws? To keep us from the Holy Days of our Lord.
Leviticus 23:3 KJV Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
The seventh day of the week is Saturday. And, according to the times set by our Lord, it begins on Friday at sunset. Nothing in the scriptures points to a midnight start of the day. There is nothing Holy about Sun Day.
Matthew 28:1 KJV In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
We are so far removed from the times and laws of our One True God that people look at this scripture and believe the Sabbath to be Sun Day, a pagan roman day of the week worshipped by the heretics that rule over us.
Matthew 24:24 KJV For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
I was once deceived, believing the Birthday of Christ to be 12/25. Now I know that 12/25 is saturnalia, a pagan sun worshipping holiday. What else do we not know because we just trust in these adherents of satan? Look at what they’ve done recently with BC/AD being perverted into bce/ace.
And why does it matter? For the same reason the doctrines of men and their false religions keep you from a personal relationship with your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. These things are the very definition of the antichrist.
One good example out of the many I could choose from; How many of us keep the Passover? Christ did not do away with the Passover, He observed it with the disciples as the Last Supper. He changed the Sacraments of it from the blood of the lamb to His Blood, the wine. This should be one of our Holy Days but we’ve been led away from it. By evil.
When are going to take our times and laws back, away from the evil ones? We give them this power over us, how can expect anything else but the evils that they currently perpetrate upon us?
Jesus Christ is the Sabbath Rest. Paul is preaching to the Hebrews that they're going to have to work on getting past their traditions to enter into the Rest. In verse 3, he references believers are entered into the rest and works are finished. As a believer, I know that I am secure and God loves me uncondititonally. Therefore I am FREE to love others without fear of condemnation or guilt. I'm hear to tell you, you can be a much more powerful witness when you're not worrying if you're doing enough and just DO!
As far as being out and about on the Sabbath, In Romans 14, Paul says: ** One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.**
We're living through unbelievable times for a reason. If we are feeding on the Word, and praying for direction, the Holy Spirit will equip us guide us to just what we should be doing!
Here is a free ebook by Paul Dohse, a man who isn't afraid to share what he has learned about church and its structure. It looks at what church is supposed to be from a Biblical and not traditional standard. https://app.box.com/s/1x9c4im4y4dtdwd1lv67mxbudgqvtybx
I've never felt so effective as when I quit the 501c3 cursed church hamster wheel!
It looks at what church is supposed to be from a Biblical and not traditional standard.
That is what I have been studying lately, the early church and how the doctrines of men, the false religion, took it over. I've read almost every writing of the early Apostolic fathers. I'm looking forward to reading what Paul Dohse has to say.
As to the Sabbath day, I still think, that as a witness to unbelievers, we should show all honor to our faith. The point of this thread is that we regard Him not. We just allow evil to push us away from Him, in all ways. Not with our own salvation, which is sealed, but with the lost sheep. Especially with Passover, considering that Christ died for us on Passover, I think that nothing should come between us and the setting aside of that day. And us being enslaved to evil kind of points to something not be right with God.
I remember those days of not eating out on the Sabbath and not doing yard work. I also remember teaching kindergarten Sunday School and listening to a thousand screaming, laughing kids playing soccer on the city field just beside our church. It was kind of awkward. Over time, it became next to impossible for me to find a church that was simple and not trying to be something else. That's not to mention the pedos and freaks I've found lurking in there.
Best witness to unbelievers is being loving. I tell them how our family reads the Bible everyday. For me, it's an all day, everyday kind of thing. So proud of my older kids talking about spiritual things with people as they are led.
Paul Dohse helped me a lot when I was trying to figure out the unloving direction my church was taking via Calvinism aka Manachian Gnosticism. Paul and his friends at TANC ministries had already been through the gauntlet and in pursuit of truth, came up with interesting conclusions. https://paulspassingthoughts.com/
Pagan Christianity is also a well cited book that lets you know when certain church traditions took root.
The New Testament command is not to forsake the assembly together. Right now most assemblies of believers meet on Sunday, but we can meet any day of the week, and we should meet as believers all the more as we see the day approaching. It's great if your nuclear family and/or a couple accountability partners can meet personally or digitally every day. I appreciate and affirm your revelation on how this is radically different from the 501(c)(3) model.
As we grow we come to terms with the reality of God's commands in our lives, including the Ten Words. Note that the Sabbath command is about 6 days of work (!) and 1 day of rest, not about worship meetings. We should worship God at all times, through work and through rest. There was a point in my life where I dedicated original Sabbath to resting in God, starting Friday sundown, and the whole schedule of my life fell into line (Jesus had already straightened out my life long before, but then he used Sabbath to make the little things align as well). u/Andy_Man45 affirms these things in much the same way (see c/Christianity for more!). As you enter into Jesus being the rest from our labors under sin, every day, you begin to take his words more seriously and ask how you can serve him better. When he returns I don't think he'll say the original Sabbath is either abolished or transferred (although I could be wrong)! So I practice the Sabbath that I think he is most likely to be honored by when he comes, and encourage others to do the research I did and come to a conclusion in him as well. There is charity in nonessentials, but in Eph. 4 there is also a coming to unity of knowledge of the Son that seems to include a healing process on the Sabbath question.
In this crazy world, rest is important. God knew what he was talking about when he said we should rest one day a week! Just think, if He hadn't of written that down, the god of this world would have us worked into early graves. Our labor laws are built around the timeless truth that the human body needs to recharge.
When I used to do 501c3 church, I was exhausted by the end of the day. I needed Monday to recover from Sunday!
I would like to be gathering with more people, but I think God will lead me to that when the time is right.
Swampy! Long time no see.
The New Testament command is not to forsake the assembly together.
Yeah but not with the antiChrist.
There is charity in nonessentials, but in Eph. 4 there is also a coming to unity of knowledge of the Son that seems to include a healing process on the Sabbath question.
It's not really a question in my mind of which day it is that the believer chooses, as a believer is already sealed. My concern lies in the fact that evil has replaced our Holy Days with their pagan worship. And that serves only one purpose, to keep unbelievers from thinking about God. Even this society is set up in a way that you hurry over here and hurry over there just to fulfill all the unnecessary things they have heaped upon us. I think any true revival would start with us taking back these Holy Days and consecrating them anew in His Name.
Witnessing to the unbelievers is what we lack.
You can always fast for Day of Atonement, which this year happens between sundown Wed 15 Sep 21 and sundown Thu 16 Sep 21. You'll be joining millions of others.
