I would be inclined to believe this mis-translation of name might have occurred, except for the deep animosity and hatred and attacks directed against the Son of God when he is called Jesus. Yeshua is his Hebrew name.

I'm not convinced the idea that the name Yeshua translated to Jesus in English has been manufactured to bait and switch believers of the Gospel of Christ.
