I have been getting the biggest bags of stuff like that. Love how the commies do inflation when we all need to stock up. Just moved states and been catching up on all bills. Been rough, same for everyone.
Go to the dollar store. Stock up on things you might need like bleach. Buy seeds and dirt. Start small with things like lentils and rice. Buy an extra soap here and there. Download cheap recipes. Build a fire pit. Being broke doesn’t mean you can’t survive, just have to think outside of the box.
FYI on the bleach, in liquid form it only has about a 6 month shelf life. If you are wanting to stock up for long term storage, get the bleach tablets or powder, or even bags of pool shock, just be sure you have a cool, dark, dry place to store them.
Didn't know bleach even had a shelf life! I have some from last year that I'm still using on laundry. Not a bad idea to stock up on gallon size water either. My local dollar store has them, gonna buy some more this week.
I grew some tobacco last year resulting in several kilos of cured and vacuum-packed shag. I don't smoke but have collected roll-up papers, filters and lighters. I reckon this will get me eggs and other fancy stuff.
wow that's awesome! good going. we want to buy some land to grow some shit, inc ye ol weed, but mainly food. just can't do it in time for what's coming NOW. hey, i may need to barter with YOU haha
Living in hurricane country, we buy a couple of cans and maybe a gallon of water every grocery trip. I know its not an immediate jump start your stocks right now. But a gallon of water and 2 cans of veg adds maybe $2 to your weekly shopping. You won't even notice amd will build a hurricane pantry in no time.
Im scared of this bc lately, we can afford to stock up on groceries for the week, not longer.
You don't have to buy it all at once, just buy some extra each time you shop. Whatever you can afford.
Buy lots of staples and dried goods - like rice and beans and spices- might take a little longer to prepare, but at least you won't starve.
Also don't forget water, depending on where you live.

It's a problem. I am building up my stock of tradable items to swop for what I can't afford. Tobacco, matches, lighters, fire starters.
That is a good plan. I've been thinking along these lines....what can we barter!

For sure. I have been saving our canned goods instead of eating them
