If we were lied to about everything, it’s pretty difficult to put together the correct picture of reality.
I don't know if "pretty difficult" suggests the right thing, where here it sounds slightly defeatist (forgive me if I'm wrong). It takes more effort for sure, but using critical thinking and discernment we can get a pretty good idea of reality, even if its exact nature remains elusive.
The exact nature of reality has always remained elusive, so it still being elusive is nothing new. Using the cyclical methodologies of logical debate, the scientific method, etc. it is possible to get closer and closer to the truth with effort and investigation.
Everything takes work. Discovering reality has been the primary endeavor for humans for all of our existence, or at least all of what we know about it (as inaccurate as that may be). I think the Great Awakening is all about us learning that it essential to put in that effort. Not just the "thinkers", but every single one of We The People.
Maybe everything is sacred.

Can't argue with that.
