Meh, install a huge solar panel array to drive aircon units. I've stayed there in July/August. Beautiful but strange aroma - a mixture of turnip lanterns, hot bricks and rotting vegetation. (You get used to it.)

rural high elevation regions are not nearly as bad. if you prefer Tucson or Phoenix or Yuma, yeah that will suck.
