if you're already in good health, that's probably more than enough to maintain it. i do two long fasts a year. 20 days between thanksgiving and xmas (solstice) and 40 days in late winter/spring (lent/easter/equinox). and intermittent fasting all year. not particularly religious, but those times of the year are easy to remember and prepare for and also makes biological/historical sense to me.
if a paleo man was to starve for a while, wouldn't it likely be in late winter after he's run out of all the stored food, dug up all the roots, and the snow makes it impossible to follow the herds? also in early winter cause paleo man maybe wasn't prepared for the season's first massive snow dump and can't track the herds.

awesome. if you're concerned with muscle loss, look into an amino acid supplement. i'm not sure how effective they are, but that's what's generally recommended for long fasts and i take those. and multiple short, light workouts are feasible. the biggest health risk is probably the refeeding procedure. i got pancreatitis the first time i came out of a long fast cause i ate too much, too fast (third day). ease back into eating with multiple super small, easy to digest food to gently wake up your digestive system. there's good info out there. i do this with bone broth and adding bigger portions of meat, biotics, boiled veggies.
getting through 14 days from 7 is easy, but coming out of it takes much more care. good luck.
Thanks for the info. I'm in pretty great health for my age. Just trying to stay healthy as long as possible. No significant health issues ever in my life. Hoping to keep it that way for many years to come.
I have not ever tried longer than 7 days. I would be willing to try 2 weeks, but 40 days a bit long for me. I don't have the fat stores for that long. I would end up burning muscle fiber.
