I recall hearing that the national highway system was to be built so that every 5 miles or so, there'd be one mile of straight highway for use as military runways in case we were invaded (except in certain terrain, mountains, large lakes, etc.).
Hopefully this is practice for rounding up the [DS] and not Patriots.
As a junior officer, Eisenhower was tasked with taking a convoy from Chicago to the Pacific Coast. The exercise failed miserably.
Fast forward to after WWII. Eisenhower had seen the autobahn and remembered what it was like trying to slog a convoy through mud back in the day. if the commies ever invaded we would have been up shit's creek because of the sheer vastness of the country, especially the west.
I think that most Americans don't really fully appreciate the awesome logistical feat that is the Interstate Highway System and how it shaped the modern economy which we all benefit from.
Whether they can round up 150 million people with guns isn't what I was driving at. The statement is that it'd be good if this was all part of the WH military preparedness vs. the DS. Outside a very small group of the military, most of them have no idea about the WH plan so most likely this is deep state preparedness that will hopefully be turned against them when it is time.
And there will be nothing close to 150 armed people. Do we have enough? Certainly but most won't action anything.
