The irony here is that [they] want us masked at all times, which, if you wear a hat and sunglasses, too, makes your face "anonymous."
Talk about a fucking upside down Clown World, huh?
Maybe the masks helped them improve their facial recognition algorithms enough that they can still tell who you are, mask or no mask.
What if this was the entire point of the pandemic
Part of it is also training AI systems to detect the face under the mask.
(I've seen one some time ago that tried to generate naked photos from clothed photos)
