I thought they used those air powered bolt guns?!?!?!? These just for cows? I.mean, if they really wanted, there are ways to kill a pig. Utter nonsense to say they can kill them to "cull the herd" but could not have been doing this and sending meat to market.
Sounds more like they use the CO2 as a preservative. Room with high CO2 and little room for oxygen means meat dont rot as fast
I thought that too but apparently they use it to stun them or something.
This is what they wrote anyway.
"Rocketing gas prices have caused a Europe-wide slowdown for some chemical factories that produce fertiliser, a byproduct of which is carbon dioxide, used in fizzy drinks and beer as well as in the meat industry to stun animals before slaughter."
Sounds suspiciously like an excuse to cause artificial meat shortages.
