Yeah most people on the left don’t actually follow politics and just repeat whatever they sense they are “supposed” to. That usually means watching a couple Stephen Colbert monologues and an SNL skit. For a leftist, paying “close attention” to politics means flipping over to the State of the Union or a Presidential debate whenever the show they are watching on Comedy Central goes to break. They just don’t really care about politics and consider the whole subject boring, like school. This is why they are so receptive to simple formulas like Orange Man Bad. Anything to reduce their homework.
Most people who were on the left and woke up to reality know this is true because we remember being that same useful apathetic leftist idiot when we were younger. We know how much of these people’s poltical options are superficial bullshit because we used to be those people. We also remember that we used to cover for our ignorance by pretending to be super passionate, which is another tactic they use. “OMG guyz, these children in cages are so terrible! I am in tears right now! This President is so awful!” Then after they see the likes roll in, they log off, turn on Netflix, and start watching their show. They literally don’t give two fucks about the border. Every lurking leftist reading this knows it’s true.
We might want to reword our conversations to use "constitutional" instead of political. I say this because when we have all constitutional public servants, what is there to argue about? Politics is the process of fighting over opinions without any regard for the rule of law, the Constitution. Neither R nor D parties really pay attention to the rule of law and even less if any of them are "elected." Just MHO.....
