Shaming is and was always a powerful and under utilized tool that was effective at maturing folks through their own humility. Mental illness persist and are even promoted in our society right now rather then shunned. Then there are folks that are not capable of being shamed or saved, the truly evil.

No, some of us developed a resistance to shaming because those who wanted to control us overused it so much. We can tell right vs wrong well enough on our own.
