Watch this.
Perfect timing. A nice phat volcanic eruption with complimentary tsunami would be great for diverting attention in normieland.
Basically, if a big chunk of that breaks off in to the ocean, it's going to send ripples all across the ocean. Those "ripples" are expected to be over 100 feet tall in that scenario. Scary stuff for folks living on the east coast. Lucky for them, the waves would be down to 20-30 feet tall by the time it reached them.
Apparently it would reach something like 8-12 miles inland. Lots of destruction I'm sure, but isn't as bad as it's being made out.
That's only like 25% of the country's population. No big deal.
I don't think you understand how tsunamis work
IF a BIG ENOUGH chunk falls in ALL AT ONCE. First, is something likely to fall? Second, does it fall all at once, or in pieces over a week? Third, how big is this chunk? The megatsunami story is a hypothesis of a worst case scenario.

I got this the other day somewhere on telegram, don't remember where. It was a Naked Science video.
Well, that puts an end to my vacation plans. But, let's not fear monger here. About 10 years ago there were earthquake swarms on La Palma and all I read was this could mean a giant tidal wave wiping out the eastern United States seaboard. So, I'm saying this seems like cycled fear porn to me. Next, we'll be hearing about the Yellowstone caldera acting up like it a few years ago. The fear mongers were saying were over due for the big one!
