Fast food and snacks (corn puffs, potato chips, corn chips, pretzels, candy) are at the root of obesity. Back in the 50’s and 60’s there were few fast food joints. Only rarely did one go to McDonalds, and it was considered a treat, exception rather than the rule. Now you see lines at lunch and dinner time at all these places and they are everywhere Taco Bell’s, Wendy’s, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Popeye’s, Steak and Shake, Inn Out Burger, Five Guys, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa John’s, etc.). Most of these places were non-existent 50 years ago and so was the level of obesity.
Absolutely! I remember my dad taking us to McDonald's about once every few months, and it was a treat. From what I recall the burgers were pretty small and so were the fries. Even at that it was something we rarely ate. No one in my family was fat. In fact hardly anyone I knew was overweight. Maybe a few kids in school, but they were the exception, not half the school.
The other thing is that your main entertainment was playing outside with your friends. Now it's playing video games and getting up close and personal with a bunch of words and pics that MIGHT be the actual person on messaging.
While easy access to snacks, candy, and greasy fast food is a huge factor, I believe the root of obesity is actually liquid calories. Starbucks drinks, sodas, sugary juices, and alcohol are absolutely LOADED with calories and they don't make you full. There is physically only so much you can eat... I simply can't fathom people getting as big as many are without the abundance of liquid calories.
The Fatties don't want to take responsibility for their own weight. Caloric intake determines weight. If you eat a moderate amount of fast food, you'll probably be fine. Just determine your metabolism and consume fewer calories than you burn. Unless you have "a special condition" that makes you magically fat when you eat fewer calories than you burn (which is physically impossible, but is claimed by Fatties everywhere).

I think the biggest culprit is liquid calories. Soda pop, sweet tea, starbucks, sweetened juices, ect...
Never heard of "ect". Fruit juice?
The chemical in fruit juice that turns frogs gay.
That’s called correlation and not causation buddy. I eat fast food everyday and am in better shape 90% of people I see walking around.

Exactly. I don't eat fast food and I've had weight issues my entire life. I do eat snacks on occasion, but my diet consists mostly of healthy meals.
