It absolutely counts. My wife is losing her job on October 1st. Actually, she's being placed on administrative leave for a month to "weigh her options." Her supervisor has been seeking her resignation ahead of time. She's told him she has no plans on quitting. Because she's not, the job will technically still be hers... so they can't hire another person to fill her position until she's formally dsimissed. This means that her desk (along with others) will sit vacant during October and the remaining "jabbed" employees will have to split their time covering their own responsibilities as well as those of the ones on leave. You can't make this stuff up. The evil they're creating is literally blowing up in their own faces.
We're not worried. We'll be fine... and so will you. Hang tough, SassyLass.
That’s my exact scenario, except I have until Oct 18 and then a month of being “off the schedule”. Our Governor is bringing up 300 nurses to replace all of us that are not willing to be part of this experiment. I’m in a highly specialized unit that is already short staffed so good luck with that 🖕🏼.
Hi SassyLass, I just want to wish you the best and to stay strong! And you know what they say, misery loves company. =) I have the Oct 18 date (announced last week) as well before being placed on administrative leave (I'm in legal services). They haven't announced up to how long the leave would be. The email did indicate that 90% were vaccinated, but who knows. Also, they said we were at 70%+ vaccinated back in August, and a lot of people left the firm from August till now, so I think some people left ahead of the mandate. It is funny because I work in CA, and the firm is headquartered in TX. The CA office's HR person seemed shocked about the mandate from TX headquarters. It seems... somewhat reversed from what I expected. But then, I've always known this was a pretty-lefty TX firm. Anyway, you will be in my prayers along with all others in this annoying situation. Thank you for helping hold the line!
