Why they would try at all means one of two things:
Patriots aren't in control, and the DeepState is getting their wet dream to come true
Patriots are in control, but the DeepState don't know how far they can press without getting their heads chopped off, so they are dipping their toes in the water to slowly find out what traps are where. This could be a trap to activate the final phase of the Law of War and get them dead to rights on every crime in the book.
Oh, so the same thing they said about swearing in Biden. Ok. 🙄
