All I have to say is similar things are happening at TX Children’s hospital. Not the blood (that I know of), but those technicians or nurses or whomever they are, are purposefully shoving the dang swab up in kids too high. Personal experience. I had been warning my husband for a year and a half about this. Well ... our teenage son, who is not done growing, fell off his bike and broke his wrist and snapped his growth plate. Had to do surgery to put in a pin, otherwise his wrist would be messed up for life.
Line of cars in the circle drive to get the coof test, which was mandatory for the surgery. Kids were screaming bloody murder, including my son. My husband asked for another option and was told this or no surgery. Oh, and the surgery had to be done within a few days, or you miss the window of time to fix the break.
So frustrating! My kid was not sick and didn’t need a coof test for a broken wrist. But what are the options? 🤬
