I almost went right by this because it sounds too strange. But because you are the poster, I’ll check it out.

I thought the article below was interesting about a daily low dose aspirin and lower colorectal cancer (plus a few others). As well as the FenBen.

Best wishes and may the Lord cover you with His love and protection as you move into this new phase.

I’m with you. I read a variety of things. 10ish years ago the woo woo alien people started talking about how AI had taken over other planets and that AI was the anti-Christ. Obviously, everything with a grain of salt, but I see AI being / merging with the anti-Christ, as well.

He’s talking about under 21, but when was this? Casinos were legal for 18+ for a long time. Same for drinking age. I remember the change well in Texas because my older sister kept turning the legal age, and then the new age took effect the next month. First 18, then 19, then 21. Back in the mid 80s.

It was posted in less than an hour from the time of the news of the incident … thus my question on this thread. I was awake and following the news.

How would you have had time to write all of that since this incident took place?

It’s really frustrating! I have multiple food allergies, including nuts, so have been avoiding those for years. I just thought “wow” after reading the article and thinking about my husband and daughter. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Yes, it’s just peanuts and salt. Though, now we maybe need to re-evaluate.

Good information! My daughter is a water polo athlete and ended up getting hurt weight training .. used to burning thousands of calories a day, to full stop. I’ve been trying to help her navigate the whole situation.

What about eating too many nuts? My daughter and husband both rapidly gained weight this fall … eating natural peanut butter and pistachios as healthy snacks. Based on this article, possibly too many nuts turned them into hibernating squirrels?

We’ve all been trying to eat healthy. It’s going to be a bummer if they have to cut out nuts too!

Unfortunately, the vast majority of the transactions are computer generated. Your employer sends a copy of your W-2 directly to the IRS electronically. You have roughly until the summer after the previous tax filing close on October 15 to file. (So, for 2025 income, with a tax return extension due date of October 15, 2026, you have roughly until July of 2027.). After that, the IRS issues a matching notice and requests a tax return. From there, you have roughly 6 more months (if you ignore the letters) before the IRS produces its own version of what your return should be, using the most disadvantaged numbers as possible, and starts garnishing your wages and putting liens on your property.

If you do not respond to the letters, it is just an automated process. The computer system is set to continuously churn out escalating notices, every 30 days. Then, it flips to sending a notice to your employer to start involuntarily taking money out of your paycheck.

Just a rough outline of what goes on.

If you are heading down that path, my suggestion is to not ignore the letters. Request extensions of time, continue to communicate. If you are communicating, it rarely gets escalated to garnishment. As well, communication then brings in a person, versus just the computer.

My 2 cents … for what it’s worth!

Did y’all note Bill Barr as the incoming AG for GHWB?

Welp, I work for myself. I completely understand where you are coming from. Before 2010, we paid roughly $500 a month for a family of 4, with the high deductible plan … deductible was $6,000 a year. This is small business insurance, since both of us worked for ourselves. So, roughly $12,000 a year, if we needed to use it.

Starting 2010, because of Odumbo and Nasty Nan, less coverage, but premiums jumped to $1,400 a month, with deductible at $16,000 a year. Which amounts to $32,800 out of pocket, should we need medical care.

And, fun fact, I needed a hospital that year and our only “covered” hospital was the indigent one … where those people get seen for free. We got a different, more expensive plan the next year.

I personally think it all sux and that the government and the middle man need to get out of the way.

If you have a small business, there are companies who price out insurance rates … for no charge to you. Might be worth a look. You can get small business insurance as a husband and wife. It only requires 2 people.

This is incorrect and you need a new tax guy. 30+ year tax accountant here. That was the original rule for the ACA. The 2018 tax law did away with the “have to have insurance” provision. That was set to expire this year. The new 2025 BBB codified the prior 2018 changes and made them permanent.

Marketplace premiums are going up because the temporary CV subsidies are expiring. As well, healthy people are not being forced to buy health insurance, so there is no offset to lower the costs.

It’s all a racket .. and time for the government intrusion into health care to implode.

Your best bet is to get set up on a payment plan with them. You can do it online. They’ll divide the payment by 72 months .. and it comes out automatic withdrawal.

That would amount to roughly $35 a month if your balance due is $2,500.

Or, you can pay by credit card.

Or, if you haven’t actually filed the return yet, you can file an extension and wait to file the return until October 15. Maybe by then you could pay part of it.

The interest and late payment penalties until October 15 wouldn’t be that much.

Just don’t go past October 15 … because that’s when the bigger penalty kicks in.

If you have other questions, feel free to PM me. But … definitely take a look at your withholding. You don’t want to be in the same position next year!

I hate to be Debbie Downer .. but the computer system will just spit out tax notices until you pay it.

Which … unfortunately … then causes arguments in your home. No human irs agent will look at a balance that low.

And, they’ll just take it from your refund next year.

But … meh … I’m ready for the whole thing to be abolished.

Now that we know for a fact that our money has been wasted, mis-used, absconded with … it’s time. Shut it down and salt the earth.

People keep asking me … won’t you be upset … youll be out of a job.

Nope … I’ll be celebrating with everyone else!
