I understand. We set ourselves up for disappointment all the time. It's the feeling you get when you notice the gap between what you would like to experience and what actually happens. What can we do? Well at any given situation that you dislike you have 3 options: change the situation, if possible. leave the situation, if possible. If neither are possible for you at the moment, you have to surrender to the moment you are in - not give up but wait until you can either leave or change the situation. There is no point in feeling sad or angry or frustrated at things we cannot change. It is best to accept it for what it is and make the best of it. Know that you always only have to deal with the present moment, the here and now. That's all there ever is. There is no past, it's just a former now. There's no future, just other now's that haven't arrived yet. The current moment is all we will ever have. Become aware of now, this very moment. Your surroundings, the smells, sense of touch, what you can here. Be extremely present. Don't linger in the past (depression) and don't fantasize about the future (anxiety&worry). Take it moment by moment, because no one can carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.
Thanks, I agree with what you said wholeheartedly...
I'm tired of being disappointed - I know that's on me, I gave people too much credit (?) importance ... I don't have the right words, but it's definitely bringing out the pessimist in me.
Why did God make us social creatures and then make it so hard to be around each other? :)
God gave us all a spark of divinity. We can cultivate that or leave it to die. It's very hard because we all have our personal "defects" or "egos" we fight with, and they are many (I am legion). God gives us free will and the chance to work on ourselves psychologically. That's why we are put through hardships, and if we don't learn anything about ourselves and react differently, they will keep repeating themselves. Problems are there for us to grow, not to give up. It's all in our own hands - the choice to make ethical decisions and I'm not just speaking about actions but also words and thoughts. Never despair friend, however, because we have the power to end our own suffering if we work on ourselves. Even death is not the end my friend. If we fail to eliminate those defects in a lifetime, nature takes care of that, which is very painful (hell). It's like facing all your worst defects, fears etc in a nightmare over and over again. But our inner divinity never dies and you'll get another shot. Bless you.
Yeah. I thought I was a pretty good at seeing through bs and staying away from fakes and liars.... Im getting lessons up the wazoo. 😂
The few friends I had turned out to be godless communists. I'm grateful to have learned this about them but I keep going over years of discussions and situations and I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong in not seeing it or maybe I shouldn't have been forgiving for slightly obnoxious or selfish moments. Idk,,,,
