When I left US in early 2000 and then visited again in 2008, I could already feel the marked difference. There was a palpable loss of morale. The strangest incident I remember was how the white rich execs loved Obama, but the black taxi drivers hated him (I think that was around 2011-2012).

I cannot imagine how it must feel there. God, when I visit again next time, I hope its as beautiful as I remember in late 90s.
