"Inevitability" is what prevents future crimes.

Not the speed, not the prison time.

If the criminal is never sentenced - it doesn't matter if the possible penalty is 20 years.

If the criminal never gets to the court phase - it doesn't prevent the next crimes too.

The only way the criminal code can work is when the penalty is inevitable. That means: sooner or later they end up in prison and there is no way to escape.

If the above assumption is true (inevitability) the potential criminal has to think twice before getting involved.

Excellent post.

This is exactly why I see no path forward other than to phoenixize the core bodies that deal with Justice.

Kill the CIA & Disclose the horror. Diplomatically this would actually galvanize MASSIVE support for the US. Much of the apprehension you see is them knowing the CIA. Most nations love us. Outside of the CIA and materialism they know us personally.
Destroy the FBI and DHS and birth a new Federal Body that has rigorous oversight.
Institute sound money. Instantly the capacity to do this much tyranny stops.
