Incorrect. What happened is inexplicable.

Facebook.com was down in a prolonged outage. According to some sources Facebook.com was withdrawn from global routing tables

Facebook.co.uk was down, and all other country websites, despite that Facebook has multiple data centers around the world, not just one - "Facebook operates 18 datacenters in 17 regions."

Why would Facebook.co.uk be using Facebook.com for it's website?

Occulus Rift, Whatsapp, Instagram were also three separate brands that were also down.

Facebook employees were reportedly locked out of the building

If it didn't happen now, it's clearly a shot across the bow.
