Or is it dishonest, confusing, discrediting and lame?

I gotta say, since asking for a source on the above quote, and receiving no response, and then finding zero evidence such a quote was ever uttered by Donald Trump, it seems to me that if this board is then going to affirmatively approve that kind of embarrassing LARPing, we are gratuitously risking surrendering any claim to be a place where truth is the highest value.
Humor is grand; malicious deceit is despicable; but playing make-believe like it’s real here is simply juvenile and pathetic, and terribly discrediting.
Sauce or GTFO. Let’s have some damn standards, please.
I don’t get why you would be remotely fine with fake quotes here?
I’m here for the truth, not some LARPing pretending masquerading as truth. That’s not to say humor isn’t a big part of the content and appeal here, but posting made up crap in a manner meant to impersonate the truth is ridiculously inappropriate.
The easy answer is: if someone posts something fake in faux earnestness (ie, not humor), and it is reported, it should be removed, not approved. That’s not the least bit complicated, and not at all difficult.
Quadrupling down on the Karen tizzy rather than taking a time out to sober up? Understandable. Negative emotions take the logic centers of our brain off line just as quickly as a shot of booze does. While the emo or booze impaired imagines they're fine or even functioning better than usual, in fact they're on auto pilot and emocentric. Matures learn to take a break when emos hit rather than taking their "thoghts" seriously. That avoids becoming the stereotypical, annoyingly aggressive "drunk" who demands to be "heard" while being unable to "hear". Best wishes. 😘
